Cleaning your GLOBE-TROTTER case

 When cleaning the exterior of vulcanised fibreboard, you may use a soft pencil eraser to remove any marks. A soft cloth may also be used when moistened with a neutral detergent. Please take care to choose an appropriate cleaning fluid so as not to discolour the case exterior. Strong detergents or abrasive products are not recommended. Pre-testing on a small area is recommended before using any cleaning products on the entire surface of the suitcase.

 Do not apply or use any cleaning or coating products on the leather parts, as they may discolour or damage the leather. Do not use thinner, benzene or any kind of solvents or water-proof spray to clean or coat the suitcase, as they may discolour or cause damage to the suitcase. Spillage of liquids inside the case should be cleaned as soon as possible with a dry absorbent cloth. If not dried immediately, liquids can stain or discolour the suitcase lining, and in extreme cases cause a distortion of the actual case.

Storing your GLOBE-TROTTER case

As with all suitcases, Globe-Trotter cases are best stored in a cool, well-ventilated place. You should not store your Globe-Trotter where it could be exposed to direct sunlight, high temperatures or dampness. Doing so may affect the shape and/or the paint finish. Please ensure that the case is not crammed into a space where deformation may occur and keep away from any objects made of plastic or vinyl that could deform at high temperatures. Doing so may cause damage to your suitcase as such objects could break down when exposed to heat and adhere to your suitcase.

In order to best maintain the condition of your suitcase, please refrain from laying heavy objects on the exterior. It is also best to avoid leaving heavy items inside the suitcase for extended periods of time. Doing so may affect the shape or cause damage to the suitcase.

To open
Slide the opener away from the hasp.

The lock safety feature
The outer sleeve is notched for grip and can be twisted 90˚ to prevent the opener from sliding open and your suitcase accidentally opening. Left hand lock = turn anti-clockwise; right hand lock = turn clockwise. Twist back in the opposite direction to unlock the opener.

To lock / unlock
To lock, insert the key into the keyhole and turn the key anti-clockwise 360˚ until you hear a clicking sound. When locked, the opener will no longer slide open. To unlock, turn the key 360˚ clockwise until you hear a clicking sound.

Attaché Locks

To open
Slide the opener away from the hasp.

To lock / unlock
To lock, insert the key into the keyhole and turn the key anti-clockwise 360˚ until you hear a clicking sound. When locked, the opener will no longer slide open. To unlock, turn the key 360˚ clockwise until you hear a clicking sound.

Combination Locks

To Set Your Combination Lock
1) Remove the red pin

2) The dials should be set to 0-0-0, if they are not please rotate the dials to 0-0-0 (this is the factory pre-set combination).

3) Slide the button to the left towards the dials and hold. With your other hand, rotate and set the dials to a desired 3 digit number that is easy for you to remember.

4) Release the button, taking care that the set dials do not move. Your locks are now set to open on your desired 3 digit combination.

To Open

Slide the button to the right.

To Close

Slide the button to the right and push the hasp into the lock. When the hasp is inside the lock, slide the button back to its default position.

Leather Products

To care for your leather product we recommend avoiding exposure to extreme heat or water; spot clean with a damp or dry cloth.

Richly dyed leather or suede could transfer onto light-coloured garments or upholstery so please take extra care. For metallic leather, stay away from any liquid containing alcohol as this would remove the metallic colour and finishing.
